SANY Heavy Truck Unveils Production-Ready Electric Trucks at IAA Transportation 2026

SANY Heavy Truck Launches Electric Truck Lineup at IAA Transportation 2026

SANY Heavy Truck, alongside its subsidiary Putzmeister, has made a significant mark at the prestigious IAA Transportation 2026 event in Hannover, Germany. Under the banner “Here to Stay,” the company showcased an innovative range of ready-for-production electric trucks, designed specifically for European transport needs.

A New Milestone in Electric Mobility

SANY's featured vehicle at the event was the electric heavy truck, the SE636. This vehicle is built on a robust 4x2 chassis and is equipped with a substantial 636 kWh battery pack. It offers an impressive range of up to 500 kilometers on a single charge and has a curb weight of 10.9 tons. What’s notable about the SE636 is that it holds the distinction of being the first mass-produced electric heavy-duty truck from a Chinese manufacturer to receive EU type approval, and it is already operational in countries like Germany and Turkey.

Kevin Eichele, who leads product development for electric heavy trucks at SANY-Putzmeister, addressed attendees during a press conference on the inaugural day of the event. He emphasized the company's strategic commitment to the European market and outlined its vision of providing commercially available vehicles that are validated by European certifications and rigorous operational testing within fleet environments.

Hands-On Experience and Customer Insights

At IAA Transportation, SANY provided attendees the chance to experience the SE636 firsthand. A two-kilometer test track was set up, allowing fleet operators, logistics industry clients, and journalists from Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, and beyond to get behind the wheel. Feedback from the trials highlighted the SE636's smooth acceleration, effective energy recovery features, and whisper-quiet operation, showcasing the vehicle's advanced engineering and user-friendly design.

Currently, SANY operates over 70,000 electric heavy trucks globally. Since establishing its presence in Europe in 2022, the company’s electric utility vehicles have entered 15 different European markets and have cumulatively driven more than 20 million kilometers in operational mileage.

Comprehensive Local Support for Fleet Longevity

Understanding the importance of reliable support, SANY has established a comprehensive customer service network throughout Europe to ensure the long-term operational availability of its fleets. In collaboration with recognized local service partners, SANY offers approximately 650 service stations for routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs, alongside 24/7 roadside assistance. Moreover, SANY's European service teams provide specialized technical support tailored to meet the intricate demands of vehicle maintenance.

SANY's debut at IAA Transportation marks a pivotal moment in its enduring commitment to the European market, seamlessly integrating production-ready technology, proven operational experience, and customized local support. With the urgency of electrification in the transportation sector, SANY is set to strengthen its influence in Europe and deliver tangible, scalable zero-emission solutions, thereby contributing to a more efficient and sustainable future for commercial transport.
