Kadoya Oil's Achievement at the World Edible Oils Contest
The renowned Kinjirushi Pure Sesame Oil produced by Kadoya Oil Co., Ltd. has recently won a Bronze Award at the prestigious World Edible Oils contest, organized by the Agency for the Valorization of Agricultural Products (AVPA) in Paris. The award ceremony took place on June 19 at the historic Luxembourg Palace in Paris.
This contest is known globally for its rigorous evaluation of high-quality edible oils from around the world, considering various aspects such as taste, aroma, and manufacturing methods. Kadoya's Kinjirushi Pure Sesame Oil stood out in these evaluations, receiving high marks for its rich flavor and excellent balance. Comments from the judges included an impressive rating of 8 out of 10 for richness of flavor and 9 out of 10 for overall oil quality, signaling a strong endorsement from a majority of the evaluators.
This recognition marks a significant milestone, as it reflects the appreciation of Kadoya's widely cherished sesame oil by experts abroad, further reinforcing its global status. The award emphasizes Kadoya Oil’s commitment to quality over its 167 years of operation, and it serves as a testament that Japanese artistry and tradition can transcend cultural boundaries.
Statement from Kadoya Oil’s Overseas Division
The Overseas Division of Kadoya Oil has been delivering high-quality roasted sesame oil to over 35 countries, including the USA, Europe, and Asia. The French market is characterized by a preference for lighter oils and variations that are cold-pressed, making it less common to find popularly enjoyed products like roasted sesame oil. With this context, Kadoya’s unique offering faced considerable anticipation and tension as to how it would be received.
The achievement of the Bronze Award for Kinjirushi Pure Sesame Oil signifies that the traditional recipes and quality we have upheld for more than a century have earned recognition beyond borders, and brings us a great sense of pride. We hope this award allows even more people to discover the allure of our sesame oil. Moving forward, we aspire to open up new possibilities for sesame through our message, “Open up the potential of sesame.”
