SOMIC Transformation Boosts SUPPOT with New Functional Enhancements



SOMIC Transformation, a company based in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka, is set to launch new features for their innovative work support robot, SUPPOT, on April 8, 2026. The advancements are aimed at significantly increasing productivity in various operational settings. Overview of New Features


The latest version of SUPPOT introduces three key upgrades that enhance its efficiency and responsiveness on the job site:

1. Increased Speed in Autonomous Operation


The new design allows SUPPOT to operate at speeds of approximately 3 km/h, an increase from the previous speed of about 1 km/h. This improvement drastically reduces transportation time and increases overall task efficiency, making it especially beneficial in workplaces with high transportation demands and long distances.

2. Easy Route Change Function


With the introduction of a route change button, operators can now effortlessly alter the robot's path with a single click. This added flexibility accommodates changes in workplace layouts and allows for multiple route adjustments, thus enhancing operational adaptability.

3. On-Display Information


SUPPOT is now equipped with a display that shows critical information such as the current route name and battery levels. This feature enables operators to monitor the robot's current status at a glance, simplifying management and fostering a more secure operational environment.

These enhancements are a direct result of feedback collected from real-world operations involving twelve units of SUPPOT at the group's manufacturing facility, SOMIC Ishikawa. This hands-on approach allows the company to make meaningful improvements that genuinely serve the needs of users on the ground.
