'Obakeidoro 2' Launching on Nintendo Switch!

Today marks an exciting milestone for gaming enthusiasts, as Freestyle Co. announces the launch of the highly-anticipated game 'Obakeidoro 2' for Nintendo Switch. Starting at 10 PM (JST) today, players will be able to download this thrilling asymmetric multiplayer game from the Nintendo eShop. Joining the launch is the DLC 'Additional Character Pack 1', available from 4 PM today.

What is 'Obakeidoro 2'?

In 'Obakeidoro 2', players are split into two teams: humans and ghosts, all racing against a strict three-minute timer in a game of tag. The objective is straightforward: if the ghosts catch all the human players, they win; if at least one human manages to escape, victory goes to the humans.

Both teams experience unique gameplay elements:

- Ghosts revel in the thrill of searching, the joy of discovery, and the satisfaction of catching their prey.
- Humans must navigate tension-filled escapes, experience the exhilarating counter-attack with lanterns, and enjoy the accomplishment of rescuing teammates. Notably, the game supports both local and online modes, accommodating up to eight players simultaneously.

New Features and Customization Options

Today's update also introduces a new Custom Rules option, enhancing gameplay by allowing users to create unique match settings. Players can adjust the number of humans, ghosts, and their movement speeds, providing a fresh and personalized experience. Can you survive against numerous ghosts as a lone human player?

The debut of 'Additional Character Pack 1' adds new excitement to the game, featuring:

- Human: Ponkichi (Ninja)
- Ghost: Gasha
- Lantern: Substitute Lantern

This downloadable content is available starting at 10 PM today for a price of 980 yen (tax included).

Limited-Time Event: Mischief by Tiny Ghosts

From August 13, 2026, at 4 PM to August 30, 2026, at 11:59 PM, a unique limited-time event will take place called Mischief by Tiny Ghosts. In this mode, players will face added chaos as tiny ghosts create mischief! Watch out for ghosts that have transformed into humans!

Additionally, to commemorate the 7th anniversary of the Obakeidoro series, a special sale on the original 'Obakeidoro!' game will also be available, slashing the price from 1,980 yen to just 990 yen (50% off).
