Kennametal Showcases Next Level Shop at IMTS 2026
Kennametal Inc. (NYSE: KMT) is ready to make a statement at the upcoming IMTS 2026, presenting its innovative manufacturing ecosystem within the Next Level Shop. This interactive workshop promises to immerse attendees in live demonstrations of machining processes, expert discussions, and cutting-edge technologies in metal cutting and production.
Located at booth #431800 in McCormick Place, Chicago, the Next Level Shop aims to recreate the energy and collaborative spirit of a modern machine shop. Building on the success of the Metal Mania event held two years ago, this workshop integrates tools, software, machining innovations, and industry experts to tackle real-world production challenges.
During the event, visitors will witness the live creation of a custom Indian Sport Chief motorcycle, featuring renowned brand ambassador Carey Hart, alongside Satya Kraus, the CEO and Creative Engineer at KRAUS MOTO. The motorcycle build will showcase advanced machining techniques, using state-of-the-art 5-axis CNC machines with Kennametal and WIDIA tools, promising to deliver a glimpse into precision craftsmanship and innovative engineering.
Not only will attendees have the chance to interact with industry leaders and participate in discussions on the latest machining technologies, but they will also be able to engage with showcasing the efficiencies brought about by integrated manufacturing solutions. Famous custom artist Taylor Schultz will add the final touch with a unique paint design, making this motorcycle a one-of-a-kind exhibit. The completed bike will serve as a grand prize, allowing one lucky visitor to take it home.
In addition to the motorcycle assembly, the Next Level Shop will feature continuous live machining demonstrations, led by Kennametal experts, customers, and industry partners. This unique opportunity highlights transformative solutions that enhance production efficiency and precision across various applications and sectors.
The workshop will also present Kennametal’s latest innovations in milling, hole machining, turning, and automation technologies for longitudinal turning operations. Visitors can explore advanced additive manufacturing capabilities, large machined components, and an expanding digital manufacturing ecosystem, integrating CAM, tool data, and software which optimize programming and boost performance.
Developed in partnership with EWI Worldwide, the Next Level Shop is a testament to the interactive spirit echoing from Metal Mania, showcasing a series of new collaborations, demonstrations, and hands-on experiences throughout the week.
"Our goal was to create an experience at IMTS that feels more like a future workshop and less like a typical trade show booth," said Don Kuhn, Executive Director of Customer Engagement at EWI Worldwide. “Every aspect of the Next Level Shop has been designed to encourage exploration, spark discussions, and demonstrate how innovation comes to life when technology, craftsmanship, and cooperation converge.”
