McCormick Details Operating Model and Leadership for New Unified Company

McCormick Unveils Operating Model and Leadership Team for Combined Entity

In a recent announcement, McCormick & Company, Incorporated (NYSE: MKC) revealed crucial details surrounding its operating model, executive leadership, and the location for its secondary listing as it prepares to merge with Unilever's Foods division. This merger, which is slated to finalize around mid-2027, marks a significant strategic move for McCormick as it seeks to enhance its global presence and flavor leadership.

New Operating Structure

Once the transaction completes, McCormick plans to reorganize into four key commercial divisions - Americas Consumer, International Consumer, Global Food Service, and Global Flavor. This setup aims to streamline operations and improve efficiency by concentrating on specific markets and customer needs. The Americas Consumer division is projected to generate around $8 billion in annual sales by 2025, reflecting the vast consumer base across North America, Central America, and South America. Meanwhile, the International Consumer division is expected to contribute $7 billion in annual sales, focusing on regions outside of the Americas like EMEA and APAC.

The Global Food Service division will provide flavor solutions specifically tailored for restaurant operators and other away-from-home dining establishments, with projected annual sales of $4 billion. Combining the culinary expertise from both McCormick and Unilever, this segment is designed to leverage each company's strengths to cater to evolving market demands.

The Global Flavor division, focusing on customized flavors and seasonings, aims to reach approximately $2.5 billion in sales by 2025. This division recognizes the vital role flavors play globally and aims to meet the diverse needs of food and beverage companies, enabling tailored solutions that drive innovation and customer satisfaction.

Executive Leadership Team

As for leadership, Brendan Foley remains at the helm as Chairman, President, and CEO of McCormick. The newly appointed Executive Team will bring together experienced leaders from both organizations to capitalize on their combined expertise. Andrew Foust will oversee the Americas Consumer division, while Heiko Schipper steps in as head of the International Consumer segment. Nuria Hernandez and Suzanne Roy will lead the Global Food Service and Global Flavor divisions, respectively.

Additionally, Tabata Gomez has been appointed as Chief Growth and Global Marketing Officer, while Jennifer Han assumes the role of Chief Supply Chain Officer. Other key executives will handle legal, digital, human resources, and research and development functions, ensuring a balanced approach to growth and innovation.

Following the merger, the Executive Team will be positioned across McCormick's Global Headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland, as well as the new International Headquarters to be established in the Netherlands. This dual presence is expected to facilitate better operational synergies and foster innovation through access to Unilever's renowned research and development facilities.

Secondary Listing Plans

To further reinforce its global accessibility, McCormick has announced plans to secure a secondary listing on the London Stock Exchange, complementing its existing listing on the New York Stock Exchange. This strategic move is anticipated to enhance liquidity for shareholders and reflect the global nature of the company’s operations.

With the groundwork laid for this transformative merger, McCormick is poised to create significant value for shareholders while leading innovation in the flavor industry. As the company integrates its operations and expands its market reach, it aims to provide consumers with diverse and exciting flavors, reaffirming its commitment to making life more flavorful.

As more updates about the timing and specifics of the integration emerge, stakeholders can look forward to a new era in McCormick's journey as a unified global flavor leader.
