As excitement builds in Japan, Fuji TV is gearing up to host the much-anticipated "Mynavi High School Dance Competition 2026," set to be streamed live exclusively on their FOD platform starting November 9. This year’s event promises to bring together the best high school dancers across the nation, showcasing their talent and passion as they compete for the title of Japan’s number one high school dance team.

The competition, commonly referred to as "High-Dan," first launched in 2015, aiming to discover and celebrate exceptional dance talent among high school students and equivalent educational institutions. It has since evolved into a culturally significant event in the Japanese dance scene. Participants can be members of dance clubs or teams, passionately preparing to shine on the national stage.

Competition Structure


The competition will feature two distinct categories: the SMALL category, consisting of groups of 2 to 12 dancers, and the LARGE category for teams of 13 to 40 dancers. Regional qualifiers will take place across Japan, divided into five areas: Kanto, Kansai, Tohoku, Chubu, and Kyushu. Schools that excel in these regional contests will secure their spots in the finals taking place on April 18, 2026, at the prestigious Ryogoku Kokugikan.

In the finals, the top teams from over 20 schools nationwide will participate, delivering breathtaking performances that are sure to captivate the audience. The event won't only include team contests; it will also feature a choreography showcase and exhilarating dance battles, showcasing each school's unique creativity and individuality. As such, the arena typically pulsates with energy, enthusiasm, and cheer from fans and competitors alike.
