Her role at Lockheed Martin involves a key focus on identifying and mitigating risks related to material pricing and geopolitical challenges that can impact supply chains, especially those tied to crucial technologies like munitions, aerospace systems, and battery production.

Before her tenure at Lockheed Martin, Newstead held senior program leadership positions at Huntington Ingalls Industries and Textron Systems and served as CEO of the U.S. division of Evolution Energy Minerals, where she was pivotal in driving onshoring initiatives for graphite and other advanced battery materials.
