Yayoi Ken's Exciting Brand Makeover at Kawaguchi Shiba
In a remarkable development, Plenus Corporation has reimagined its popular casual dining restaurant chain, Yayoi Ken. By the end of May 2025, Yayoi Ken will be operating 361 restaurants across Japan. The most recent addition to this impressive portfolio is the newly revamped Kawaguchi Shiba store, which opened its doors on June 26 at 10:00 AM.
The Kawaguchi Shiba outlet showcases the fresh branding elements, including a new logo and symbol mark released in December 2023, reflecting Yayoi Ken's commitment to quality and modernity. The store’s design embodies a contemporary take on traditional Japanese aesthetics, featuring a new logo sign, elegant curtains reminiscent of the “wa” (Japanese style), and wallpaper inspired by historical documents related to its roots. It aims to provide a “high-quality” dining experience in a beautifully crafted environment.
To enhance the dining experience, Yayoi Ken has introduced a range of new features. Customers can take their time selecting menu items through tablet devices placed at the tables, ensuring an enjoyable and relaxed ordering experience. Additionally, the store offers exclusive dessert options and a drinks bar, allowing guests to unwind during their visit. Diners can also relish unlimited servings of rice, broth, and pickles at the 'Oshiruko' station, a beloved feature of Yayoi Ken.

New Logo, Symbol Mark, Tagline, & Statement
Logo and Symbol Mark
The newly designed logo uses a modern serif font, enhancing the harmony between Japanese script, the Latin alphabet, and the symbol mark. By combining these elements, Yayoi Ken aims to ensure that customers can instantly recognize the name worldwide. The symbol mark is inspired by the letters 'Y', 'Y', and 'I' from 'YAYOI', crafted into a curtain design, further emphasized by a handwritten 'やよい' (Yayoi) to capture the essence of traditional Japanese curtains. The color palette comprises 'Yayoi Red,' symbolizing the desire to soar like the sun, and 'Yayoi Wakakusa,' representing the fresh green of budding plants, merging to present a refined image of modern ‘wa’.
Tagline
`Precious to me. 今日に、よいもの。` (Good things for today.)
