NorthStar Clean Energy Secures $334 Million for Innovative Solar Projects
NorthStar Clean Energy has successfully obtained up to $334 million in financing dedicated to the construction of two significant solar projects in Michigan. This funding underscores the company's commitment to advancing renewable energy solutions and enhancing local economies.
The projects include the Branch Solar Project, a substantial 200 MW facility located in Branch County, which stands out as NorthStar's largest solar initiative in Michigan. The second initiative, the Genesee Solar Project, will contribute 50 MW of clean energy and is strategically positioned in a historically marginalized community in Genesee County.
Brian Hartmann, President of NorthStar Clean Energy, expressed pride in the company’s Michigan heritage and commitment to impactful projects. He stated, “Our Michigan roots run deep. We are proud to invest in projects that not only produce clean power but also create jobs and fortify local economies.”
Together, these solar projects are anticipated to generate enough electricity to power approximately 36,000 homes each year, marking a notable step forward in NorthStar's mission to enhance clean energy production on both a national and local scale.
Hartmann emphasized the company’s strategy: “With these projects, we continue to solidify our leadership in renewable energy while creating a meaningful impact in the communities where we live, work, and play. Our focus remains on providing clean and affordable energy while fostering a sustainable energy future.”
NorthStar Clean Energy is adeptly positioned for strategic growth, backed by strong financial practices that facilitate the launch of large-scale renewable energy projects across the nation. The successful acquisition of construction financing was accomplished through collaboration with leading financial institutions, including BNP Paribas, MUFG, and SMBC.
