Locksley Resources Achieves High-Grade Antimony Concentrate at Desert Mine Project



Locksley Resources, an Australian-based explorer, has recently revealed promising results from its metallurgical test program on surface samples collected from its Desert Antimony Mine Project located in California's Mojave Desert. The company reports that these tests have yielded exceptionally high-grade antimony concentrate, significantly surpassing the grades of comparable projects in the United States.

The initial results from these metallurgical tests indicate an impressive final flotation concentrate containing 68.1% antimony. This purity aligns closely with the technical maximum stibnite grade of 71.68%, with impurities remaining minimal—a crucial factor that not only exceeds marketable sales thresholds (which require a minimum of 55%), but also enhances the commercial viability of the concentrate.

Such high grades of antimony are increasingly in demand, especially by the U.S. government, which is prioritizing a fully domestic supply chain for critical minerals. Antimony, used extensively across various industries including munitions, semiconductors, and energy systems, has gained strategic importance amidst growing concerns over mineral security.
