Omio and České dráhy Partner to Enhance European Train Travel Options

Omio and České dráhy Join Forces to Revolutionize European Train Travel

In a significant development for rail travel in Europe, Omio, a premier global platform for multi-modal travel bookings, has entered a strategic partnership with České dráhy, the national railway operator of the Czech Republic. This collaboration, announced on September 22, 2025, promises to expand travel options and increase convenience for both local and international travelers seeking to explore Europe by train.

The partnership allows Omio users to book a range of services provided by České dráhy, including Regio, InterCity (IC), and EuroCity (EC) long-distance routes. Additionally, high-speed travel options like Railjet and Comfortjet are now part of the offerings available through the Omio platform. With these additions, Omio solidifies its status as a leader in the multimodal travel market across Europe.

Simplified Booking for Travelers

The agreement enhances connectivity for journeys to key European cities such as Berlin, Dresden, and Munich in Germany; Vienna, Linz, and Graz in Austria; and Zurich in Switzerland. Travelers can also access neighboring countries like Slovakia, Hungary, and Poland, making the booking process more streamlined for exploring vibrant cities including Bratislava, Budapest, Warsaw, and Krakow. Domestic services within the Czech Republic, covering major cities like Prague, Brno, and Plzeň, are part of the offering designed to cater to the needs of tourists and local commuters alike.

According to Veronica Diquattro, President of B2C and Supply Europe at Omio, this alliance is a pivotal moment for the company's ambition to provide a comprehensive multimodal travel experience across Europe. Diquattro expressed excitement about the expanded access and choices available for international travelers, emphasizing the importance of facilitating seamless train travel.

Petr Vondráček, Director of the Passenger Transport Business Department at České dráhy, highlighted that this collaboration not only broadens their customer base but also positions rail travel as an eco-friendly, modern, and user-friendly mode of transport in today’s travel landscape. Vondráček underscored the shared vision of both companies to enhance the attractiveness of train travel across the continent.

Investment in Modernization

České dráhy’s commitment to excellence is reflected in its ongoing investments to modernize rolling stock and improve passenger experiences. With an impressive average of 6,600 trains dispatched daily—and a total of 168.8 million passengers transported in 2024—the company is continuously implementing innovations, including the introduction of new ComfortJet trains and Vectron locomotives capable of reaching speeds of up to 230 km/h.

By modernizing not just their fleet but also infrastructure, České dráhy aims to position itself as a competitive player in international transport, directly connecting passengers from major cities such as Prague to key destinations across Europe.

The partnership with Omio is part of a broader strategy that has seen the platform expand its offerings significantly. In the current year alone, Omio has partnered with over 60 airlines and numerous ground transport operators, cementing its role as a one-stop-shop for travelers seeking diverse modes of transport, including trains, buses, flights, and ferries across Europe, North America, and Southeast Asia.

A Bright Future for Train Travelers

The launch of this partnership resonates with rising trends among travelers, particularly from abroad, seeking to utilize rail networks for cross-border journeys. Omio's data indicates a growing demand for convenient and diverse transport options among international tourists. With seamless booking and comprehensive transport solutions now available, both Omio and České dráhy are set to reshape the experience of train travel in Europe.

As travel patterns evolve, this partnership signals a significant leap forward in promoting sustainable and efficient transport solutions. The future of European train travel looks brighter and more accessible than ever, inviting travelers to uncover the beautiful landscapes and cultures that await just a train ride away.

Both companies are optimistic about the long-term implications of this strategic relationship, as they continue to adapt and respond to changing needs and preferences within the travel industry.
