Eve Air Mobility Partners with Aerosolutions and Bluenest for Sustainable Air Transportation

Eve Air Mobility Partners with Aerosolutions and Bluenest

Eve Air Mobility, a trailblazer in electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, has officially inked a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Aerosolutions and Bluenest by Globalvia. This agreement encompasses the sale of up to 50 eVTOLs as well as access to Eve's comprehensive TechCare services designed to streamline eVTOL operations, maintenance, and customer support. The collaboration is poised to revitalize the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) landscape in Costa Rica, significantly enhancing travel and tourism in the region.

Accelerating Sustainable Air Mobility

Johann Bordais, CEO of Eve Air Mobility, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, highlighting that partnering with Aerosolutions and Bluenest enables them to accelerate safe and sustainable air mobility in Costa Rica. The vision is clear: transform travel in popular tourist areas such as Guanacaste by alleviating road congestion and reinforcing the nation’s position as a leader in ecotourism.

Currently, tourism is a significant contributor to Costa Rica’s economy, welcoming over three million foreign visitors each year. The existing road network, although extensive, often suffers from congestion, leading to prolonged travel times that can detract from visitors' experiences. By rolling out efficient and eco-friendly air taxi services, the partnership aims to revolutionize local mobility, mitigate ground traffic issues, and bolster Costa Rica’s reputation as a hub for sustainable tourism.

Modernizing Regional Connectivity

The collaboration will initially focus on improving the air transport network within Costa Rica's Pacific region, connecting airport access to premium resorts and eco-friendly destinations through routes spanning between 20 and 50 kilometers. As noted by Megha Bhatia, Chief Commercial Officer at Eve Air Mobility, this agreement means more than just access to eVTOL aircraft – it represents a significant advancement in travel efficiency, especially in areas where roadways are congested. By streamlining logistics and enhancing passenger experience, this initiative aims to set new standards in regional transportation.

The role of Bluenest as Globalvia’s AAM unit is also crucial to this partnership. They will be tasked with developing vertiport infrastructure that ensures safe and efficient aircraft operations. As the operator of Costa Rica's Ruta 27-Autopista del Sol, Globalvia's integrated approach is expected to enhance intermodal connections between air and terrestrial transport, ensuring a seamless travel experience.

Commitment to Sustainable Future

Antonio Mota, CEO of Aerosolutions, remarked that the partnership symbolizes a major milestone for Costa Rica’s dedication to sustainable tourism. Aerosolutions is honored to spearhead the operational rollout of this innovative eVTOL fleet, which promises to substantially reduce travel times and alleviate congestion in vital tourist zones like Guanacaste.

Eve's TechCare services will provide Aerosolutions with essential operational support, which includes collaboration in areas such as vertiport development and pilot training, equipping them for successful implementation of the AAM ecosystem in the region.

Jose Ignacio Rodriguez, Managing Director of Bluenest by Globalvia, concluded by emphasizing their commitment to construct the infrastructure of tomorrow. Their work with Eve Air Mobility and Aerosolutions reflects an ongoing relationship initiated in 2024 focused on advancing vertiport and air taxi testing in the Guanacaste region. By integrating Eve’s air traffic management software with their operational framework, they are striving to develop cutting-edge vertiports and contribute to a greener, interconnected future in travel.

The Future of Air Travel

Eve Air Mobility's eVTOL aircraft, featuring a lift+cruise configuration with eight propellers for vertical take-off and landing, aims for unmatched performance and safety. With comprehensive testing phases ongoing for the prototype, Eve remains dedicated to pushing the boundaries of the eVTOL experience.

In essence, this robust partnership not only calls for advancement in air mobility solutions but also champions the principles of sustainable tourism, preparing Costa Rica for a future where air travel is efficient, environmentally friendly, and integral to the tourism experience.
