Transforming Global Child Welfare: Both Ends Believing Celebrates 15 Years
In a remarkable milestone, Both Ends Believing (BEB), a Dallas-based global nonprofit, proudly celebrates 15 years of transforming child welfare through technology and advocacy. With a mission to ensure that every child is known, safe, loved, and with a family, BEB is dedicated to rewriting the stories of vulnerable children around the world.
Since the inception of their Children First Software (CFS) platform in 2018, BEB has achieved significant success, connecting over 13,000 children with loving families across 18 countries. Notably, in 2024 alone, 2,174 children experienced the joy of being placed into permanent homes through reunifications and adoptions facilitated by this innovative technology.
At the core of BEB's strategy is the transformation of children’s paper-based records into secure digital identities that provide visibility and a voice within the welfare system. CFS effectively bridges the gap between child welfare organizations and the families they serve, allowing for quicker and more accurate matching processes. Where it once took years for children to find their forever families, technology has drastically reduced this time to mere months.
“Every child deserves to be known and loved,” says Bruce Graham, President of Both Ends Believing. “Before implementing CFS, many children languished in institutions for years without a chance at family life. With our digital identity system, we are now witnessing life-changing placements happening at unprecedented speeds.”
Graham, who became president in 2024 after a successful tenure as Board Chair, has been pivotal in expanding BEB's global outreach and building strategic partnerships that enhance the impact of their programs. The underlying philosophy of BEB is not just to improve existing systems, but to actively break the cycles of trauma caused by war, poverty, abuse, and trafficking, which often leave children lost in the system without formal documentation.
Before CFS, many records were prone to loss or neglect. Now, with its secure infrastructure, BEB empowers ministries, NGOs, and caregivers to advocate for each child effectively, resulting in a world where more children are able to thrive in family environments.
BEB continues to grow its global partnerships, expanding into countries like Costa Rica, Guatemala, and South Africa, and has recently welcomed Cambodia as its 18th country of impact. This strategic expansion is crucial for fulfilling BEB’s commitment to reuniting children with their families and ensuring that no child is left behind in institutional care.
“By placing children with families, we do not just change the lives of those children; we change entire communities,” Graham emphasizes. BEB is relentlessly focused on their mission of moving children out of institutions and into loving homes, enhancing the overall child welfare landscape worldwide through the development of mission-driven technology.
As both a nonprofit and an advocate for change, Both Ends Believing remains a beacon of hope for children in need. With technology as a cornerstone of their operations, BEB is set to continue its crucial work of transforming the child welfare sector globally. Their ambitious mission is clear: to ensure that every child is known, safe, loved, and ultimately, part of a family.
