SPANISH DINING Rico at Isetan Shinjuku
From September 24 to 30, 2025, Isetan Shinjuku's basement food collection will host a special event titled 'Gourmet Week for Autumn Appetite.' This event showcases the exquisite Spanish cuisine of SPANISH DINING Rico, a restaurant operated by Greenhouse Foods located in Nishi-Shinjuku, Tokyo.
A Feast for the Senses
During this week, visitors can indulge in a wide array of traditional dishes, including Rico's most popular 'Barcelona-style Seafood Paella,' which is prepared with a rich seafood broth. Additionally, six exclusive dishes will be available only at Isetan Shinjuku. One standout item is the 'Premium Paella Plate,' featuring luxurious paella made with Kumamoto's renowned Akaushi beef, known for its flavor and tenderness. This plate is paired with the Catalan dish 'Fricando,' which consists of Akaushi beef slowly braised in red wine and sherry for eight hours.
Seafood lovers will also be treated to a sumptuous paella loaded with five kinds of luxurious seafood, including crab, scallops, shrimp, mussels, and clams. Desserts round out the experience with favorites like 'Basque Cheesecake' and 'Chocolate Basque Cheesecake,' both of which are exclusive to this location.
What is Akaushi Beef?
Akaushi beef, a breed of Wagyu known for its rich flavor and moderate fat content, is highly regarded for its health benefits and ease of consumption. Within this category, 'Enjyu-gyu' is a special brand that is reared through a unique method, ensuring a buttery texture and delicious flavor that remains tender over time.
