AGEST's Innovative Software Supply Chain Initiative
In a groundbreaking move, AGEST Inc., headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, is stepping up to enhance software supply chain security in response to growing concerns in the digital landscape. This new initiative, known as
SBOM Archi, was developed by AGEST to aid organizations in identifying, assessing, and managing risks associated with their software components.
Starting September 15, 2026, AGEST, through its group company LogiGear, will make SBOM Archi available to the US market. Meanwhile, in the UK, the launch will occur on September 16, 2026, in partnership with Developing World Systems Limited (DWS). The urgency of this release is underscored by the impending EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) reporting requirements set to take effect on September 11, 2026.
Importance of SBOM Archi in Today's Market
Organizations operating in the European market must navigate the complexities introduced by the CRA, which mandates the reporting of actively exploited vulnerabilities and significant security incidents affecting products with digital components. SBOM Archi is designed not just as a tool for software asset management but as a comprehensive platform delivering ongoing visibility into vulnerabilities, licensing issues, and EOL/EOS risks.
The latest version, SBOM Archi 2.2, comes equipped with several features to support CRA-related reporting, including EUVD integration, audit log functionality, and CVSS 4.0 support. This positions SBOM Archi as a crucial asset in mitigating software supply chain risks and ensuring compliance with stringent regulatory frameworks.
Insights from Leadership
LogiGear's CEO Satoshi Furui emphasized the value of SBOM across the landscape of software components, stating, "While SBOM provides invaluable visibility, organizations also need practical methods to understand and manage related risks. SBOM Archi transforms data concerning software components into actionable risk intelligence, allowing for enhanced decision-making regarding vulnerabilities and environmental changes."
Additionally, DWS COO Katsuaki Nagao highlighted the critical nature of software supply chain visibility, explaining, "Creating an SBOM is merely the starting point. The real value lies in understanding risks, prioritizing responses, and maintaining visibility as software and vulnerabilities evolve."
Comprehensive Management of Software Risks
SBOM Archi offers organizations a unified environment for generating and managing SBOMs, assessing vulnerabilities and lifecycle risks, and prioritizing remediation efforts. The platform integrates vulnerability intelligence from various sources, including NVD, OSV, GitHub Security Advisories, JVN, and EUVD, providing a holistic approach to software security.
Notably, it supports multiple formats such as CVSS, EPSS, and SPDX 2.2-2.3, and CycloneDX 1.4-1.6, accommodating workflows across online, on-premises, offline, and air-gapped environments.
Availability and Promotions
SBOM Archi will be available through LogiGear in the US starting on September 15, 2026, and through DWS in the UK from September 16, 2026. Organizations that register during the promotional period will have free full access until November 30, 2026, allowing them to harness the platform's full capabilities in securing their software supply chains.
