CADAN Otemachi: A New Cultural Hub in Tokyo
On October 31, 2025, a new artistic venue named 'CADAN Otemachi' will officially launch, located on the first floor of the TOKYO TORCH Zenigame-cho Building. This initiative is a collaboration between the Cultural Vision Japan Foundation (CVJ) and the Contemporary Art Dealers Association of Japan (CADAN), supported by Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd. The space aims to invigorate the Tokyo art scene by hosting rotating exhibitions every 2 to 3 weeks, featuring works from various member galleries.
Mission and Vision
In a recent statement, Tomoharu Inoue, Executive Director of CVJ, emphasized the foundation's commitment to supporting artists. With Mitsubishi Estate's backing, the reopening of CADAN reflects the desire to make contemporary art accessible to a broader audience. Situated in the heart of Tokyo's business district, Otemachi will serve as a nexus for art programs and lectures, fostering collaboration with local companies. The founders hope that this facility will become a sustainable platform, promoting the link between the economy and culture.
Yuko Yamamoto, Executive Director of CADAN and head of ANOMALY, shared her excitement about the new venue. Following the success of the CADAN Yurakucho gallery, Otemachi will continue the tradition of vibrant exhibitions and events that stimulate artistic exchange and discovery. The potential interactions and experiments that this space might inspire have everyone looking forward to new experiences and insights.
Opening Exhibition: 'Transcending Borders'
The inaugural exhibition at CADAN Otemachi is titled
'Transcending Borders,' featuring eight artists selected by four galleries based in the Kansai region: Yoshiyaki Inoue Gallery (Osaka), The Third Gallery Aya (Osaka), MORI YU GALLERY (Kyoto), and FINCH ARTS (Kyoto).
This exhibition is not merely about crossing geographical boundaries; it delves deeper into merging materials, techniques, generations, spiritualities, and cultural backgrounds. It aims to showcase the artistic power of transcending borders through a diverse range of practices that intersect across various divides.
The opening reception will be held on the same day from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with greetings from participating galleries and artists beginning at 6:30 PM. Journalists are encouraged to attend and explore the work firsthand. Additionally, the adjacent 'YAU CENTER Zenigame' will also host an opening event, allowing attendees to experience two artistic launches in one evening.

- - November 25 to December 13, 2025: Project by Satoko Oe Contemporary and WAITINGROOM.
