The Wizard of Oz at Sphere

Set to debut on August 28, 2025, The Wizard of Oz will be reimagined as an all-encompassing immersive experience. In collaboration with industry giants such as Warner Bros. Discovery, Google, and Magnopus, this production will maintain the essence of the beloved 1939 film while leveraging advanced technology to further engage audiences. The creative team behind this ambitious project includes notable figures such as Academy Award and Emmy-nominated producer Jane Rosenthal, visual effects mastermind Ben Grossmann, award-winning editor Jennifer Lame, and Creative Director Zack Winokur, all of whom are committed to taking the original film's narrative to new heights.

Jim Dolan, Executive Chairman and CEO of Sphere Entertainment, expressed his vision for The Sphere Experience, highlighting its aim to provide a diverse range of content, leveraging Sphere's unique capabilities. He stated, "Our goal for The Sphere Experience is a diverse slate that leverages Sphere's power as an experiential medium. The Wizard of Oz at Sphere and From The Edge will push that vision forward in different ways."

From The Edge

From The Edge, set for release in 2026, is directed by the Academy Award-winning duo E. Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, renowned for their gripping work in extreme documentary filmmaking. This production will follow elite athletes in various extreme sports, including free diver Alenka Artnik, skier Markus Eder, rock climber Alex Honnold, BASE jumper Katie Hansen Lajeunesse, and surfer Kai Lenny. Through their lens, audiences can expect an inside look into the adrenaline-fueled world of extreme sports, showcasing stunning visuals captured in breathtaking locations such as Jordan, Dubai, and the Bahamas.

Utilizing Sphere Entertainment's proprietary Big Sky camera system, filming is currently underway. This technology is designed to achieve extraordinary detail and fidelity for Sphere's display, promising an unparalleled viewing experience. The project is produced by Vasarhelyi and Chin’s Little Monster Films, along with Evan Hayes and Callum Greene, ensuring a high-quality presentation of thrilling athletic feats and storytelling.
