The 138th Canton Fair Emphasizes Agricultural Technology and Global Cooperation on World Food Day
The first phase of the 138th China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, took place from October 15 to 19, aligning significantly with World Food Day celebrated globally on October 16. This year not only marks the 80th anniversary of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) but also highlights the global call for unity, innovation, and sustainable development in agriculture.
In line with these themes, the Canton Fair featured a distinct section on agricultural machinery, showcasing technologies aimed at enhancing efficiency, safety, adaptability, and sustainability across various terrains and agricultural environments.
One long-established exhibitor at the Canton Fair, recognized for its product innovations, presented its latest utility task vehicles (UTVs) that run on both electric and fuel power. These vehicles are designed specifically for use in agriculture, mining, and rugged settings where standard vehicles struggle to operate. The deputy general manager of the international business division emphasized that safety is paramount in the development of their heavy-duty vehicles. Aware of the critical role that human operators play, the company is committed to ensuring the safety of drivers. This commitment is evident in every phase of the design and engineering process, guided by the highest safety standards.
With a strong presence in Southeast Asia, the company views the Canton Fair as a strategic gateway for expansion into European, African, and other global markets. The deputy general manager praised the fair as a highly professional and effective platform for connecting with qualified international buyers.
Additionally, a Shandong-based exhibitor, known for its competitive edge in crop protection machinery, showcased its latest innovations, including lithium battery-powered lawn mowers, chainsaws, and a new blower designed for forest fire combat—a growing concern for safety management in agriculture and forestry. With around 70% of the core components manufactured in-house, the company has improved both product quality control and efficiency. Their recent investment in a new manufacturing plant in Thailand aims to meet the rising demand in the Southeast Asian market while reinforcing the brand's commitment to localized manufacturing and global support capabilities.
In its role as a catalyst for global agricultural progress, the Canton Fair continues to foster industries and inspire collaborative solutions for a more sustainable and resilient future. As the world increasingly looks to balance agricultural needs with environmental sustainability, events like the Canton Fair play a vital role in showcasing innovations and fostering cooperation among countries.
