Exploring Your Future: An Insightful Online Seminar

On June 23, 2026, at 19:30, an enlightening online seminar titled "Exploring Your Future" will take place via Zoom, led by the esteemed Jo Inoue, CEO and CCO of Riveness. This seminar aims to inspire high school students and their parents by discussing how scientific research can be applied socially and the creation of ventures that can change the world.

The seminar is part of a monthly initiative by Nagase, which runs Tohshin High School and Tohshin Satellite Prep School, designed to help high school students identify their dreams and aspirations. The event is free of charge and open to all high school students and their parents, including those not enrolled at Tohshin.

Purpose of the Seminar

The "Exploring Your Future" seminar is tailored for the digital age, introducing students to emerging professions and expanding their future career options. Each month, remarkable leaders who create new values in society are invited to deliver engaging lectures, followed by a Q&A session to foster direct interaction between the participants and the speakers. Past speakers have ranged from data scientists to white-hat hackers and machine learning engineers, providing students with valuable insights into various fields.

Participants will have the opportunity to consider vital questions such as, "What do I want to be in the future?" and "What is the purpose of my studies?" This seminar specifically targets students who may feel uncertain about their career paths, offering guidance and inspiration to turn their aspirations into reality.

The Speaker: Jo Inoue

Professor Jo Inoue graduated from Takasaki High School and Tokyo University of Science. He has a Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences and is a licensed pharmacist. In 2002, while in graduate school, Inoue founded Riveness, which has expanded from conducting hands-on science experiment classes for students into a broader realm of education, research, and venture capital support.

Inoue's current role sees him fulfilling various academic positions, including a professorship at Kumamoto University and a guest professorship at Keio University, among others. His work revolves around the development of new research initiatives and collaborations with universities and research institutions.

Inoue’s Message

In his upcoming lecture, Inoue will detail how researchers are overcoming borders between industries, universities, and nations to create innovation. Attendees will learn how personal interests and curiosity can transform them into drivers of change. He will share his personal journey of overcoming doubts during high school, leading to his involvement with Riveness and the critical role that scientific curiosity plays in addressing societal challenges.

The session promises not only invaluable insights into scientific research but also practical examples of social applications, emphasizing the mission of Riveness: to foster young researchers and turn research findings into ventures that can impact various sectors such as healthcare, environmental care, food, and energy.

Following the lecture, participants will have the chance to engage with Inoue during a Q&A session, allowing for an interactive experience where students can seek advice or clarification on their future paths.
