About Kiyoshi Shigematsu


Kiyoshi Shigematsu, born in 1963 in Okayama Prefecture, graduated from Waseda University's School of Education. He began his career as a freelance writer after working in publishing, making his debut as an author with “Before Rain” in 1991. Over the years, he has received numerous awards, including the Naoki Prize for “Vitamin F.” His extensive collection of works includes titles such as “Meteor Wagon,” “Before That Day,” and “Tomboy,” which showcase his literary versatility and depth.

This special lecture is organized by the Waseda University Cultural Promotion Student Advisors and aims to celebrate the power of words and literature in uniting individuals through shared experiences and stories.
