A Year of Flavor at Dough Slave Hiroshima
In a delightful twist of culinary creativity, Dough Slave Hiroshima, a bakery concept rooted in local revitalization and entertainment, is celebrating its one-year anniversary from May 1 to May 3, 2025. Located in the heart of Hiroshima's Itsukaichi area, this bakery emerged from Hiroshi Horie's HIU (Horie Takafumi Innovation University) initiatives, aiming to bring joy and deliciousness to communities through their unique bakery offerings.
As a gesture of gratitude towards its loyal customers, Dough Slave will host a special anniversary festival. Anyone who visits during this celebration will receive a complimentary mini rusk, and the first five customers each day can indulge in a limited-edition giant salt bread, known as the “Honki no Mammoth Shio Pan,” for an unbeatable price of 180 yen (tax included). This bread is an astonishing four times the normal size, perfect for those who appreciate taste and value in equal measure. However, customers are advised to arrive early as these special items are sure to sell out quickly!
A Year of Success
Since its grand opening on May 1, 2024, Dough Slave Hiroshima has made remarkable strides. During its first year, approximately 13,000 of its signature “Zakku Zaku Curry Bread” have been savored by local residents. This award-winning item, which has won gold for four consecutive years at the Curry Bread Grand Prix, offers a crunchy texture with its croute topping and delightfully spicy filling, making it a must-try for anyone visiting the bakery.
