Interestingly, when freelancers were asked about their most recent significant purchases, the most common response was "nothing purchased." The second most noted expenditures included domestic travel and entertainment, indicating that many freelancers may be holding back on discretionary spending, likely due to the surging prices of goods and services.

Investment Behavior Trends



The survey showed that approximately 53.8% of freelancers are investing in some form of asset management. Among millennials, the commitment to investing is robust, with a striking 75.5% of individuals in their 20s engaged in some form of investment.

The data indicated that most freelancers invest between 10,000 to 30,000 yen monthly, while some invest between 30,000 to 50,000 yen. Moreover, the survey revealed that out of the young freelancers surveyed, 16 out of 94 are investing over 100,000 yen every month. Popular investment avenues include both NISA schemes and a noteworthy interest in U.S. stocks and ETFs among younger investors, showcasing a mindset towards global investment opportunities.
