New Launch and Exciting Campaigns for Yakan no Koi Mugicha from Coca-Cola

Fresh Package and New CM for Yakan no Koi Mugicha

The popular barley tea product, Yakan no Koi Mugicha, produced by Coca-Cola, is getting a makeover! Set to be launched nationwide on September 22, 2025, the updated packaging is designed to highlight the tea's “rich” flavor, intended for consumers who enjoy an authentic taste reminiscent of tea brewed in a kettle.

This new version of Yakan no Koi Mugicha features a stronger flavor profile and includes functional ingredients, specifically rose hip-derived tirilozide, which is known for its potential benefits in reducing body fat for individuals with higher BMI. As it enters its second year on the market, the refreshed packaging aims to leave a lasting impression of the tea's unique qualities.

To celebrate this launch, a new TV commercial titled "Today from My Loving Wife's Lunch Box" featuring Hiroshi Nohara, voiced by comedian and actor Taizo Harada, will begin airing on the same day. This commercial intertwines with the popular anime Crayon Shin-chan, as Hiroshi experiences lunch moments that showcase the delightful and satisfying taste of Yakan no Koi Mugicha.

A Unique Spin-Off with Crayon Shin-chan

The ad is part of a collaboration with a short film series titled “Another Crayon Shin-chan: Yakan no Kazoku da Zo!” which presents a unique blend of live-action and animation, showcasing the everyday life of the Nohara family. In the new TV spot, Hiroshi is seen at his workplace, Futaba Shoji, enjoying a health-conscious lunch prepared by his wife, Misae, and refreshing himself with Yakan no Koi Mugicha. The humorous and heartwarming interactions between Hiroshi and his co-worker, Kawaguchi, will also be featured, promising a delightful viewing experience for fans.

From September 27, the broadcast will also include a digest of the first seven episodes of the series, ensuring audiences remain engaged with the characters they love.

Collaboration with "Nohara Hiroshi's Lunchtime Customs"

In addition to the commercial, starting October 3, a cross-promotional campaign with the new animated series “Nohara Hiroshi's Lunchtime Customs” will launch. This series is derived from a popular manga that explores the lunchtime habits of the beloved character, Hiroshi. The web CM will be available on Coca-Cola’s official YouTube channel, offering audiences a deeper look at the story and Hiroshi’s reactions in different animation styles.

Moreover, from October 3, Hiroshi Nohara will take over the official Yakan no Mugicha Twitter account, sharing his real-life lunchtime adventures and meals. Fans can anticipate relatable and amusing insights into the character's daily meals, providing a connection to working individuals everywhere.

Exciting Campaigns with Rewarding Offers

To further engage fans, a campaign will run that allows consumers to earn exclusive digital rewards. By purchasing a bottle from the Yakan no Koi Mugicha range and scanning the cap’s code through the Coca-Cola app, participants can collect stamps and enter for a chance to win various prizes, including drink tickets and digital points.

With the new Yakan no Koi Mugicha hitting the shelves, the campaign promises to deliver not only refreshing beverages but also entertainment and connection through beloved characters and relatable themes.
