MITS Capital and Dropla Tech's Strategic Partnership: Enhancing Defense Technology for Ukraine and NATO

MITS Capital and Dropla Tech's Strategic Partnership

In a move poised to significantly bolster defense capabilities, MITS Capital recently announced its investment in Dropla Tech, a Danish-Ukrainian firm specializing in dual-use defense technologies. This innovative company focuses on developing cutting-edge edge-AI explosive threat detection systems and unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs). The partnership aims to navigate the complex landscapes of defense technology while reinforcing the collaboration between Ukraine and Denmark in the defense sector.

Investment Details

Although the specific figures regarding the deal size and the valuation of Dropla Tech have not been disclosed, the collaboration is set to empower the company’s expansion efforts. Founded by four Ukrainians in 2023 and headquartered in Odense, Denmark, Dropla Tech has made impressive strides in integrating Ukraine's defense technology initiatives with their European counterparts.

Viacheslav Shvaidak, co-founder and CEO of Dropla Tech, emphasized that they were not merely seeking capital, but rather crucial infrastructure that MITS Capital can provide. He noted that MITS brings a vital operating back office that spans multiple jurisdictions and offers a network of Ukrainian defense companies for potential collaboration on joint research and development projects, sub-integrations, and interoperability.

Accelerating Defense Technology

This strategic alliance also means that Dropla Tech will participate in the MITS Acceleration Program, a specialized initiative focused on enhancing operational scalability, facilitating entry into the NATO market, and leveraging expertise from the broader MITS Capital ecosystem. Notably, Dropla Tech is the first company from this cohort to be publicly recognized as a participant.

Perry Boyle, co-founder and CEO of MITS Capital, expressed enthusiasm about Dropla Tech’s joining the MITS family, highlighting the company's role as a pioneering transnational defense organization combining Danish and Ukrainian capabilities. This collaboration aligns with MITS's overarching mission to support Ukraine amid its ongoing conflict and facilitate its integration into European defense frameworks.

Innovative Solutions for Explosive Threats

Dropla Tech specializes in creating artificial intelligence that is capable of detecting small explosive threats, with its leading product, Blue Eyes Warbox, designed to identify mines, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and even ambush drones, thus protecting military personnel in real-time. Moreover, the Blue Eyes system operates independently of cloud connectivity, functioning directly at the tactical edge on aerial sensor feeds. In addition to military applications, plans are in place to use this technology for humanitarian demining efforts in the future.

Recognized under NATO's Standardized Stock Number system, Blue Eyes has achieved more than 5,000 operational detections in Ukraine, demonstrating an accuracy rate exceeding 90%. This accomplishment marks a substantial leap in the company's capabilities, which were further supported by a €2.4 million funding round secured in August 2025.

Versatile Unmanned Ground Vehicles

Besides the standout Blue Eyes system, Dropla Tech has developed flexible UGV platforms: Dropla 4×4 and Dropla 6×6. These modular platforms are adaptable for various operations, including CASEVAC (casualty evacuation), logistics, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR), remote weapon stations (RWS), and counter-unmanned aerial systems (counter-UAS). Specifically designed to work with the Blue Eyes system, both vehicles are slated for large-scale production in Europe.

Another product, Dropla Seer, serves as a mobile reconnaissance complex that merges different sensor technologies with Blue Eyes AI processing for post-war humanitarian missions.

Future Aspirations

Looking forward, Dropla Tech aims to participate in the Build with Ukraine program, scaling the production of UGVs to as many as 3,000 units annually. MITS Capital's extensive portfolio—and its inclusion of 20 defense technology companies—offers Dropla Tech unparalleled networking opportunities, which may facilitate strategic alliances across various fields, such as sensing, electronic warfare, and communications.

In the context of defense technology advancement, this collaboration between MITS Capital and Dropla Tech paves the way for innovative solutions aimed at enhancing security and interoperability in Europe and beyond. As conflicts evolve, the importance of such strategic partnerships cannot be overstated, demonstrating a clear commitment to advancing technological capabilities in defense.
