APP Japan's Student Company Visit Program in 2025: A Comprehensive Overview on SDGs Engagement

APP Japan's Student Company Visit Program 2025

In 2025, APP Japan (Asia Pulp & Paper Japan) welcomed approximately 300 students from 29 schools nationwide for its Student Company Visit Program, aimed at educating young minds about initiatives related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This engaging program has been running since 2023, with a total of 45 participating schools so far.

Program Structure

The visit is divided into two parts: the first half introduces the products sold by the APP Group in Japan, the production processes involved, and the environmentally friendly paper-making techniques in the SDG era. The students learn about the 'Forest Restoration Project - Let's Work Together Towards the SDGs!' undertaken by APP Japan and Universal Paper Co., Ltd., showcasing the companies' products alongside their sustainable initiatives.

In the latter half, students participate in a question-and-answer session, where company employees address a wide range of inquiries on topics including the environment, careers, and workplace dynamics. As a token of appreciation, the attendees receive specially made UP tissue products with a project logo as well as logo stickers.

Key Aspects of Environmentally Friendly Paper Production

The environmentally friendly paper production methods discussed in the program emphasize the use of 100% plantation-sourced wood and biomass fuel, supporting sustainable practices in the industry.

Participation Feedback

The level of enthusiasm displayed by the participating students was commendable, with engaging questions from the accompanying teachers further enriching the experience. This active participation served as a significant encouragement for the employees present, creating a mutually beneficial learning environment.

Commitment to Future Generations

APP Japan is dedicated to fostering mutual understanding and learning with future generations and will continue to operate its company visit program in line with achieving the SDGs.
