Hisense Leads the Quiet Green Revolution in Home Entertainment Innovations

In recent years, there has been a marked shift towards sustainability and energy efficiency in consumer electronics, and leading the charge is Hisense, a globally recognized brand in home appliances and entertainment technology. As the world becomes increasingly aware of environmental issues, the significance of energy-efficient innovations in everyday technology cannot be overstated. With millions of households around the globe switching off their lights for Earth Hour each year, an equally compelling story surrounding sustainable practices unfolds within the screens that remain lit.

Hisense is at the forefront of this green revolution, promoting energy-efficient innovations across its product lineup. The journey of creating eco-friendly technology begins long before a Hisense television reaches the living room. In 2025, Hisense's Hitachi factory in Huandao became the first to receive the Sustainability Lighthouse designation from the World Economic Forum (WEF) in the Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) sector. This accolade showcases how AI-driven manufacturing processes can lead to more efficient and environmentally responsible production.

Building on these milestones, Hisense's Visual Technology factory in Qingdao also obtained the Customer Centricity Lighthouse status from WEF. This made it the first and only factory in the global television industry to achieve such recognition. These dual acknowledgments symbolize a broader commitment within Hisense’s manufacturing network to prioritize sustainability and operational excellence, foundations that naturally extend to the brand's upcoming 2026 television series.

Hisense’s latest models are equipped with cutting-edge energy-saving innovations, both in their hardware and intelligent features. Set to launch globally in April, the upcoming UR9 series will introduce solar-powered remote controls in regions such as Europe and Australia. Furthermore, adaptive light sensors and energy-saving modes combine to adjust brightness and consumption, enabling users to manage their electricity use more effectively.

The company is taking a holistic approach to sustainability that extends beyond the product design. Their Eco-care packaging employs 100% certified FSC® wood and fiber materials sourced from responsibly managed forests. This initiative minimizes environmental impact throughout the entire manufacturing and shipping process to Europe.

Hisense is also advocating for environmental assessments at the product level; for instance, the C3 laser projector undergoes life cycle assessments (LCA) and product carbon footprint (PCF) evaluations from SGS. This promotes transparency and allows consumers to gauge the environmental impacts across the entire lifecycle of their products.

Many environmental advancements often go unnoticed, achieved through engineering innovations that enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and extend product lifespans without changing the way people perceive technology. For Hisense, this encapsulates their vision of "Innovation for a Brighter Life"—developing technologies that enhance entertainment while steadily decreasing their environmental footprint.
