2025 Ride to End ALZ Classic: Ride to Make a Difference
The Alzheimer's Association is thrilled to announce the
2025 Ride to End ALZ Classic, which is set to take place on
August 16. This engaging and inclusive event invites cyclists of all ages and skills to participate in a nationwide virtual ride aimed at raising awareness and funds to combat Alzheimer's disease.
A Flexible Event for All
Whether you are a casual cyclist riding in your neighborhood or a seasoned biker tackling scenic trails, the Ride to End ALZ Classic offers a flexible format. Participants can choose to ride any distance, anywhere they please, from outdoor routes to indoor cycling platforms like
Zwift or
Peloton. This innovative approach allows friends, families, and community groups to join the cause and make a difference, regardless of their cycling experience.
Jessica Wells, the national director for the Ride to End ALZ, emphasized the community focus of this event, stating, "The Ride to End ALZ Classic is a one-of-a-kind event that unites riders from across the country — and around the world — in a shared mission." This mission is not just about cycling; it’s about promoting camaraderie while supporting those affected by Alzheimer’s.
Previous Success and Supporters
Since its inception in
2020, the Ride to End ALZ Classic has garnered significant participation, with nearly
5,000 riders to date. Participants can opt to ride solo or create teams, empowering collective efforts to fundraise. Notable supporters include
Konica Minolta, which has actively participated as a corporate team for three consecutive years, raising over $300,000. The enthusiasm of team captain
Laura Blackmer highlights the importance of this event: "There isn't a person I meet that doesn't know someone dealing with this awful disease," she noted, acknowledging the necessity of continued awareness, caregiver support, and research for a cure.
Fundraising Made Simple
To aid participants in their fundraising efforts, the
ALZ Fundraising mobile app offers features to track progress and unlock exclusive incentives based on their fundraising levels. Riders have the chance to earn rewards such as t-shirts, cycling jerseys, saddle bags, and much more, making the ride even more engaging.
