Exciting Return of the Minecraft Elements Event!

The popular Minecraft Elements event, hosted by Pendemy, is back by popular demand! Mark your calendars for June 27, 2026, as we invite elementary school students and their parents to dive into a world where gaming and science intersect. The event takes place at the 7th floor event space of Mitten Fuchu. Last time, over 300 young gamers participated in creating a giant Minecraft world, and we expect even more excitement this time around!

What’s new for this edition?

One of the highlights of this event is that participants can now take home the blocks they create! After experiencing the thrill of building in our special setup where everyone’s creations come together, each child can keep their unique block as a memento of their learning adventure. This change comes directly from feedback gathered during last year's event, where many kids expressed their desire to bring their creations home.

Three Steps to Transform Play into Learning

Pendemy has designed a holistic program that stimulates children's curiosity through engaging activities. Here’s what attendees can expect:

1. Mini-Lecture: Discovering the Secrets of Elements

Kids will be introduced to the concept of elements through fun and familiar gaming references. Questions like “What happens when you break an ice block?” will be discussed, transforming game experiences into real-world knowledge about elemental symbols such as hydrogen (H) and oxygen (O). With these relatable connections, children will grasp complex scientific ideas with surprising ease and focus.

2. Block Making: Craft Your Own Unique Block

Participants will choose which block they wish to create from popular Minecraft elements (like TNT or iron ore) and learn what atoms are necessary. Using cardboard and colored paper, they will craft their blocks, effectively experiencing the chemical process of crafting (combining elements) in a fun and tactile way. Our instructors will guide kids, fostering an environment for them to discover answers through experimentation rather than simply providing the correct ones. This process promotes their critical thinking skills–a vital ability for their future learning journeys.

3. Become Part of the World and Take Home Your Block

After crafting, participants will display their blocks in the event space as part of a massive installation, bringing a real-life Minecraft experience to fruition. As an exciting enhancement for this year’s event, the blocks created will also be conveniently sized at around 15cm, perfect for carrying home. This allows families to continue discussing and exploring scientific concepts even after the event, enhancing the educational impact of our workshop.
