Tokyo Station Hotel Celebrates 110 Years with Exclusive Liberty Cushions

Celebrating a Historical Union: Tokyo Station Hotel and Liberty

The Tokyo Station Hotel, nestled in the heart of Chiyoda, Tokyo, proudly commemorates its 110th anniversary this year. To mark this significant milestone, the hotel has collaborated with the renowned heritage brand Liberty, which is celebrating its own 150th anniversary. Together, they've unveiled an exquisite new interior collection titled 'THE HOUSE OF LIBERTY', featuring specially selected fabrics used to create exclusive Liberty cushions available only at the Tokyo Station Hotel.

The collection boasts a total of four unique cushion designs, with two shapes crafted from a variety of fabric patterns. This thoughtful design allows guests to mix and match according to the mood or decor of their space. The fabrics have been directly imported from England and are certified as authentic by Liberty's design team, hinting at the luxury and quality that comes with such collaborations.

As part of the ongoing celebrations, the Tokyo Station Hotel is rolling out a series of promotions throughout the year that highlight its partnership with Liberty. One of the signature experiences includes a delightful Liberty-themed afternoon tea served in the hotel's spectacular atrium. Additionally, visitors can indulge in special cocktails inspired by the Liberty concept room at the hotel's Bar & Café Camellia, all while savoring gourmet offerings.

In a nod to the exclusivity of the cushions, the hotel is also excited to introduce Liberty pouches crafted from their interior fabrics, which have already sold out during a limited online sale. Currently, two themed Liberty concept rooms are available for booking, each coming with original bags as part of the anniversary experience.

The 'THE HOUSE OF LIBERTY' collection pays tribute to Liberty’s heritage, showcasing elements from the brand's long-standing history. This includes meticulously designed features such as sculpted staircases, wooden panels, tiled fireplaces, and stained glass, all of which echo the timeless elegance of Liberty’s flagship store. The cushions, crafted from rare fabrics that are not commonly found in the market, embody the artistry and sophistication one would expect during an anniversary celebration.

The Cushion Designs

1. Berry Vine: Inspired by a pattern book from around 1910, this design showcases stylized depictions of lilies, bellflowers, daisies, and carnations—elegantly printed on luxurious soft linen. The intricately crafted vine motifs convey a sense of serene motion, embodying the meticulous craftsmanship of the era and bridging nature with artistry.

2. Fanfare: Drawing inspiration from archive fabric fragments from the late 1880s, Fanfare pays homage to the early days of Liberty’s printed textiles. This refined geometric design incorporates Asian-inspired fan motifs arranged in a scalloped pattern, beautifully adorned with intricate stripes. Fanfare represents a timeless, versatile blend of cotton and linen that seamlessly integrates modern interiors with a rich design legacy.
