STANDAGE DAY 2025 Evidences Success in Supporting SMEs' Global Expansion

STANDAGE DAY 2025: A Glimpse into the Future of SMEs' Global Expansion

On July 4th, 2025, the annual event "STANDAGE DAY 2025" took place at Station Conference Tokyo, marking another successful initiative by STANDAGE, a Tokyo-based company focused on assisting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in their efforts to expand internationally. Following last year's highly successful event, this edition attracted a substantial audience, registering 278 attendees and welcoming 201 participants to engage in discussions aimed at enhancing export capabilities.

A Day Packed with Insightful Programs

The day kicked off with a special lecture by Miuchi Sakurai, a current Diet member and a practicing physician, providing invaluable insights into the intersection of health and international trade. This was accompanied by a seminar presented by STANDAGE's COO, Kenta Omori, which focused on strategies for export promotion, followed by a dynamic panel discussion featuring various partner firms.

Participants had the opportunity to learn not only theoretical concepts but practical approaches to tackle the complexities involved in exporting goods. The event's structure facilitated a well-rounded understanding of both practical and strategic elements crucial for successful international ventures.

Recognizing Excellence in Exporting

One of the highlights of the day was the STANDAGE Overseas Expansion Awards, recognizing eight SMEs for their commitment to international growth. This year marked an increase in award categories from five to eight, which now include distinctions such as the "Best Exporter Award," "Highest Sales Award," and "Sustainable Trade Award."

The following companies were recognized for their outstanding achievements:
  • - Best Exporter Award: Miyata Orimono Co., Ltd. (Fukuoka Prefecture)
  • - Highest Sales Award: Wagyu International Co., Ltd. (Kyoto Prefecture)
  • - Sustainable Trade Award: Okamoto Co., Ltd. (Gifu Prefecture)
  • - Online Development Award: Lactose Confectionery Co., Ltd. (Tokyo)
  • - Africa Expansion Award: Fujikemi Trading Co., Ltd. (Tokyo)
  • - Sustainable Export Model Award: Aioi Electronics Co., Ltd. (Nagano Prefecture)
  • - Branding Award: CUC Co., Ltd. (Okayama Prefecture)
  • - Regional Revitalization Award: Mutoya Co., Ltd. (Miyagi Prefecture)

Post-award interviews provided deeper insights into the motivations and visions behind these companies' international efforts, resonating strongly with event attendees who were eager to learn from practical case studies.

Attendee Feedback: Insights and Networking

Surveys conducted after the event indicated impressive satisfaction rates, with 97.5% of attendees expressing being either "very satisfied" or "satisfied" with the event. Notably, 77.7% of participants were first-time attendees, showcasing the event's appeal. The diversity of participants included over 30% from executive roles, particularly in the manufacturing and trading sectors, which comprised nearly half of the audience.

Feedback highlighted the valuable learning experiences derived from various industry speakers, with many attendees expressing desires to implement insights gained into their businesses.

A Platform for Networking and Future Opportunities

Following the formal proceedings, a networking reception allowed approximately 100 attendees to engage in meaningful discussions and exchange contact information, providing a fertile ground for potential collaborations.

Looking Ahead: Strengthening SME Support

STANDAGE plans to continue its mission of empowering SMEs on their journey towards global expansion by organizing further seminars and events.
