Introducing the FLAP Program by Mint
Mint Corporation, headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo, is thrilled to announce the commencement of applications for the 31st term of the FLAP program. This initiative aims to provide free office space and supportive community resources to entrepreneurs in the startup phase or preparing for their ventures. Companies selected for this program will enjoy six months of free office support, coupled with a variety of assistance programs tailored for budding entrepreneurs.
What is the FLAP Program?
The FLAP program serves as a free office and networking community specifically designed for entrepreneurs who are in the preparatory or early stages of their businesses. Participants will gain access to the incubation office known as “ivy,” conveniently located just a six-minute walk from Shibuya Station. This office space is available 24/7 and is registered to use as a business address.
One of the FLAP program's distinctive features is its focus on maximizing the crucial resource of time for startups. Unlike traditional accelerator programs that impose strict schedules, FLAP fosters a collaborative community where entrepreneurs can help each other with problem-solving and share experiences. Since its inception in August 2018, approximately 120 startups from 30 previous cohorts have benefited from this supportive environment.
Benefits of Participating in FLAP
1. Six Months of Free Office Space
Participants will receive free access to the ivy incubation office for a period of six months. This helps reduce the financial burden of setting up an office early on, allowing entrepreneurs to focus more on their core business operations and strategic planning.
2. Discounted Packages Through “Service for FLAP”
To alleviate costs associated with launching a startup, the FLAP program offers various discounts and free access to essential business tools, along with connections to legal and tax professionals. This initiative is aimed at minimizing expenses during a crucial early-stage period.
3. Entrepreneurial Community
Participants have an opportunity to connect with fellow entrepreneurs who are navigating similar phases in their business journey. This network includes individuals from various backgrounds such as serial entrepreneurs, students launching ventures, and professionals from reputable IT companies or legal fields. The exchange of knowledge within this diverse group enhances the learning experience for all participants.
4. Networking with Experts and Mentors
The program facilitates networking opportunities with industry experts and renowned entrepreneurs. Monthly meetups and workshops hosted at the ivy office allow participants to share insights and seek advice from mentors who have navigated similar paths to success.
5. Funding Support from Mint
For those with funding needs during the program, Mint is willing to consider investments of up to 150 million yen. So far, the company has provided funding to 17 startups from previous terms, confirming its commitment to facilitating growth.
