Ponta Forest x MODRINAE Project: A Sustainable Initiative for Tree Planting

This autumn, the second phase of the Ponta Forest x MODRINAE project is set to begin, aimed at planting saplings cultivated from acorns across Japan into the Ponta Forest in Hokkaido. This initiative is a collaboration between Loyalty Marketing, the company behind the popular common point service Ponta, and Somano Base, the provider of MODRINAE saplings, which allow participants to grow trees in their homes as part of a sustainable forestry effort.

Loyalty Marketing (LM) has embraced the mission of fostering a consumption society free from waste, actively engaging with both consumers and businesses to drive sustainability initiatives. The project focuses on the Ponta Forest, located in Bihoro Town, Hokkaido, and promotes tree-planting activities that resonate with their corporate philosophy. Through the Green Ponta Action program, they aim to expand the engagement of individuals and businesses in forest conservation.

The process involves cultivating acorns harvested in Hokkaido into seedlings across various regions of Japan, culminating in their planting in the Ponta Forest in September 2024. This year marks the second year of the project, and consumers can purchase MODRINAE saplings, contributing to the cause while enjoying the nurturing experience of growing trees from acorns.

Purchasing these saplings not only enhances the participant's green initiatives but also rewards them with Ponta points—1% of the purchase price (excluding tax) is credited to Ponta members who buy the saplings. LM leverages its vast member base of over 100 million to connect consumers, corporations, and society at large, striving for a sustainable future through their Green Ponta Project and Green Ponta Action.

Project Overview

• - Sale Period: From September 1, 2025, 9:30 AM to October 6, 2025, 11:59 PM.
• - Pricing: MODRINAE saplings priced at 10,000 yen and the Ponta-design bundles at 13,000 yen (excluding tax).
• - Tree Species: Mizunara Oak
• - Contents: Includes a cypress pot, five acorns, a seedling container, soil, fertilizer, a saucer, and an informational leaflet.

Stock is limited and sales will conclude when supplies run out. Shipping is set to commence gradually from mid-October 2025, although weather conditions may cause delays.
