HoloLab's Exhibition at Osaka-Kansai Expo

HoloLab Inc., based in Shinagawa, Tokyo, has been chosen as a partner company of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's Project PLATEAU for the 2025 World Expo in Osaka. From May 20 to May 24, 2025, HoloLab will showcase its innovative use of the digital twin technology, torinome, to contribute to urban development through Extended Reality (XR) at this international event.

The Osaka-Kansai World Expo will focus on global issues, dividing them into eight distinct themes, with stakeholders gathering to propose solutions in a dialogue program. Among these is the “Future Community and Mobility” theme, where HoloLab will collaborate with other partners to engage directly with the public through cutting-edge demonstrations.

Exhibition Details

HoloLab’s exhibit will spotlight the use of XR technology in Citizen-Inclusive Urban Development v3.0, showcasing various case studies of how 3D urban modeling intersects with XR technologies. Participants will experience engaging workshops that allow them to interact with the urban development process, making discussions intuitive and accessible for all.

Interactive Experiences

Visitors will be able to virtually place fictional pavilions at the Expo site through an interactive setup. The workshops themed around “Let’s Create the Future Expo” will provide an opportunity for everyone to envision and realize what future exhibitions might look like, all in an immersive XR environment.

Workshop Schedule and Overview

The workshops will take place on:

• - May 21 (Wed): 1 PM & 4 PM
• - May 22 (Thu): 1 PM & 4 PM
• - May 23 (Fri): 1 PM & 4 PM
• - May 24 (Sat): 1 PM & 4 PM

Each session lasts approximately one hour. Participants will be guided to conceptualize their own pavilion ideas and digitally position them around the central grand canopy in the XR space, culminating in a collective viewing experience of their created Expo venue.

To participate, attendees can receive a ticket at the HoloLab booth in the morning. Holding a ticket ensures entry, requiring attendees to gather at the designated table five minutes prior to their scheduled time. It's important to note that the number of workshops offered might vary based on demand.
