Exclusive Matcha Delights from Antenor
If you're a matcha lover, there's exciting news for you! Starting June 1st, Antenor, a beloved patisserie born in Kobe, is bringing a taste of Kyoto straight to a select number of their stores across Japan. In collaboration with the historic tea merchant Kitagawa Hanbei Shop, Antenor has created a special matcha treat known as "京のお濃い茶さん (Kyo no Koi Cha-san)" that promises to delight your palate.
This indulgent confection is crafted using their unique blend of Uji matcha called "京の鶯 (Kyo no Uguisu)". This blend was expertly developed to harmonize perfectly with Western sweets, embodying the essence of Japanese tea craftsmanship. Antenor aims to deliver the refined taste and experience of Kyoto's traditional flavors to dessert enthusiasts nationwide.
What's Inside?
The 京のお濃い茶さん features a matcha dacquoise made with the selected Uji matcha, filled with a smooth and creamy matcha white chocolate ganache. To elevate the flavor profile, it's accentuated with sweet and tangy strawberry pieces, offering a perfect balance to the rich earthiness of the matcha. Each bite delivers a refreshing and satisfying experience, making this dessert a must-try for anyone who appreciates the sophistication of matcha.

About Kyo no Uguisu
The name "京の鶯 (Kyo no Uguisu)" is inspired by the traditional Japanese tea craftsmanship that emphasizes the importance of aromatic qualities and the balance of sweetness over bitterness. It was a collaborative effort between the artisans of Kitagawa Hanbei Shop and the talented pâtissiers from Antenor, resulting in a matcha that perfectly complements Western-style confections.
