Founded in 1985, Planeta is a distinguished winery in Sicily with a lineage that spans 17 generations of viticulture, dating back 300 years. Led by Diego Planeta, the winery has become synonymous with excellence in winemaking. Alessio Planeta, Diego's nephew, has taken the reins, combining traditional values with innovative practices, allowing Planeta to flourish as a leader in the Sicilian wine industry.
Under Alessio's guidance, Planeta has gained recognition for creating high-quality wines that showcase the unique terroir of Sicily. The winery has seven estates across five distinct regions: Menfi, Vittoria, Noto, Etna, and Capo Milazzo, where they produce a diverse range of wines tailored to each area's characteristics. Recently, Alessio received the prestigious WINE STAR AWARD from WINE ENTHUSIAST magazine, marking him as one of the leading figures in Italian winemaking.
