Live2D Nizima Unveils New Pre-Payment Feature for Custom Orders
Nizima, operated by Live2D Co., Ltd., headquartered in Shinjuku, Tokyo, has made significant strides in enhancing the user experience within its official marketplace by introducing a pre-payment feature for custom orders. Effective from October 7, 2025, this innovative payment method aims to foster a more secure and trustworthy environment for both creators and clients seeking custom artwork.
Background and Objectives of the Feature
Traditionally, Nizima operated on a post-delivery payment model, wherein clients paid creators only after receiving their finished work. However, feedback indicated a strong desire from creators for greater security, specifically the ability to secure payment before beginning their projects. To address this, Nizima has implemented the pre-payment system, benefiting both parties involved in the transactions.
By ensuring that payments are received before work commences, creators can focus on their art without financial worries. Conversely, clients gain the ability to manage their budgets more effectively, leading to a streamlined planning process that enhances the reliability of every transaction.
Key Features and Changes with Pre-Payment Implementation
1. Change in Payment Timing
- - Old System: Payment was made after the delivery of the artwork.
- - New Feature: Payment will now be required after order acceptance and prior to the start of production.
The funds will be temporarily held by Nizima's operations team until the final delivery is confirmed to ensure that creators receive their earnings promptly upon completion of the work.
2. New Payment and Delivery Deadlines
- - Payment Deadline: Payments must be completed within 10 days from order acceptance.
- - Delivery Deadline: Deliveries need to be completed within 160 days of the payment being made.
With this change, the minimum delivery period for custom orders has been established at five months. Clients currently offering a minimum delivery period of over six months will need to adjust their settings accordingly.
Failure to meet either deadline will lead to automatic cancellation of the ongoing transaction, and any pre-paid amounts will be refunded to the client.
3. Limited Payment Methods
Initially, only credit card payments will be accepted. However, additional forms of payment will be introduced gradually in the future.
