TFW49 Welcomes Daisuke Matsui as Its First-Ever Soccer Ambassador
In a groundbreaking move for the lifestyle brand TFW49, founded by COMITAS and based in Tokyo, Daisuke Matsui, the renowned former Japanese national soccer player, has been appointed as the brand’s first-ever soccer ambassador. This collaboration signifies TFW49’s ambition to expand its reach beyond the golfing community, where it has established strong ties with elite golfers like Naoyuki Kataoka, Yuka Saso, and Kohei Okada. By bringing in Matsui, TFW49 aims to support athletes across different sports fields, reflecting its core value of fostering challenging athletes.
Daisuke Matsui's career has been marked by a relentless pursuit of challenges. Beginning his professional journey with Kyoto Purple Sanga (now known as Kyoto Sanga F.C.), Matsui earned the nickname “The Sun of Le Mans” during his tenure with the French club Le Mans. His accomplishments include participation in the FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010, where he contributed to Japan's advancement to the knockout stage. Even after retiring, Matsui has remained active in the sports world, sharing his vast experiences as a coach and working within the futsal community to inspire the next generation.
Matsui expressed his enthusiasm about this new chapter, stating, “I am thrilled to become the brand ambassador for TFW49. I have continually challenged myself in various environments, including internationally, throughout my career. I appreciate TFW49 for its functional yet stylish sportswear that supports athletes' challenges in their daily lives. I resonate deeply with the brand’s mission to convey new values beyond sports, and I look forward to working together to share the excitement of sports and the joy of pursuing challenges with a broader audience.”
To coincide with Matsui’s ambassadorship, TFW49 announced the launch of a new line of versatile sportswear designed for seamless wear in various athletic settings. Specific details regarding the product lineup and release dates will be provided through the TFW49 Official Shop and official channels soon.
