Epic Names 1,500 Educators as 2025 Epic Ambassadors
Redwood City, California - October 24, 2025. Epic, a pioneering digital reading platform tailored for children aged 12 and under, has unveiled its 2025 Epic Ambassador Program, the largest and most diverse group of educator ambassadors to date. This year's initiative features over 1,500 PreK–6 educators from around the globe, a dramatic increase from previous years, reflecting Epic's commitment to fostering a culture of reading and learning.
The Epic Ambassador Program celebrates exceptional teachers, librarians, and school leaders who creatively utilize Epic to inspire curiosity and bolster literacy skills among young learners. Ambassadors work collaboratively with the Epic team and each other to share effective practices, create engaging learning experiences, and contribute to the evolution of digital reading in educational settings.
"Epic Ambassadors are more than just teachers; they're innovators and advocates for joyful learning," said
Cherish Mims, Manager of Educator Relations at Epic. "Their creativity, commitment, and insights enhance our ability to serve millions of young readers globally. This remarkable community reminds us daily that when educators lead with passion, students develop a love for reading."
The ambassador group showcases a wide array of teaching specialties, including general education, special education, STEM, literacy, bilingual education, and library media. These educators cater to students in diverse environments, both traditional classrooms and virtual settings. Most of them have used Epic extensively, leveraging its expansive library of over 40,000 high-quality books, audiobooks, and Read-To-Me titles in their daily instruction, thus making reading more accessible, enjoyable, and impactful for every child.
This cohort of ambassadors is not only diverse in background but also rich in experience and perspectives. For instance,
Angela Coleman from Virginia transitioned from a career in corrections to advocating for literacy and inclusion as a special education teacher.
Laura Newell from Texas brings a worldly perspective after she has taught in Zambia on three separate occasions.
Crystal Pottebaum, based in Hungary, has a thrilling international teaching experience spanning the U.S., Nigeria, Bangladesh, and Hungary. As a children’s book author and sustainability advocate, Pottebaum maximizes her classroom’s potential as a hub for global citizenship. Meanwhile,
Sharlene Bariring from the Philippines, a former nurse turned teacher, found her calling in significantly impacting children's lives through education. Collectively, these ambassadors embody the creativity, zeal, and dedication synonymous with the Epic Ambassador community worldwide.
Throughout the year, Epic Ambassadors will engage with each other via virtual events, educator panels, and advisory sessions, sharing their knowledge to influence new product features and content initiatives that will benefit educators and learners globally.
