Empowering Educators: J:COM's Invaluable Collaboration With Teachers in 2026
On August 19 and 20, 2026, J:COM Corporation participated in the “Corporate Training for Teachers” organized by the Economic Public Relations Center. This event welcomed 17 educators from Machida City, Tokyo, to engage in pivotal training activities designed to bridge educational methods with corporate dynamics. Since its inception in 1983, this initiative has aimed to equip teachers with insights from the corporate world, enabling them to implement these insights into their educational practices.
As a community-focused media company, J:COM prioritizes not only information dissemination but also initiatives for safer urban development and support for next-generation challenges. This year marks the third consecutive year in which the company has been involved in this program, emphasizing its commitment to providing educators with direct experiences that can stimulate new perspectives and learning opportunities within their classrooms.
Day 1 Activities
The first day was filled with hands-on experiences, including workshops that taught participants about the creation of vertical short videos and analytical thinking skills through data science. In the short video workshop, teachers were guided through the entire process of planning, shooting, and editing a 30-second video. This practical experience fostered skills in clear and concise communication, which can be effectively utilized in educational settings. Furthermore, a workshop focused on the practical application of data provided teachers with the tools to identify problems and develop hypotheses, ultimately leading to solutions.
Day 2 Focus: The Digital Transformation of Education
On the second day, participants engaged in a “Digital Transformation Session for Schools,” addressing crucial topics such as ensuring children's safety and security in educational environments and reducing teachers’ workloads through technology integration. A lively discussion was held on how ICT and digital transformation (DX) can provide solutions to the challenges faced in educational institutions.
Feedback from the participants reflected appreciation for the practical content. One educator noted, “Leadership and management principles are applicable in class and grade management.” Another expressed a desire to use J:COM’s diversity initiatives in career guidance. Many recognized the shared elements between program production and lesson planning, stating that teamwork was enhanced and connections between educators from different schools deepened.
