Binggrae to Showcase Melona and Samanco at ANUGA 2025 in Cologne

Binggrae's Participation in ANUGA 2025

Binggrae, one of South Korea’s foremost food companies, is set to make waves at ANUGA 2025, the world’s largest food trade fair. Scheduled from October 4 to 8, 2025, in Cologne, Germany, the event will see Binggrae showcasing its popular products, including the iconic Melona ice cream and the debut of Samanco in the European market.

Binggrae's Growth and Innovation

Founded in 1967, Binggrae has built a solid reputation in South Korea, known for its diverse offerings, which include the well-loved Banana Flavored Milk, Yoplait yogurt, and a variety of ice creams. The participation in ANUGA is a strategic move to solidify its presence in Europe, an area the company has been targeting since 2023.

At the ANUGA trade fair, located at Hall 5.2, Stand C016, visitors will be introduced to Samanco, a delightful fish-shaped ice cream sandwich filled with vanilla ice cream and red bean syrup, a nostalgic treat inspired by traditional Korean winter snacks. This product is expected to captivate European palates, further establishing Binggrae's brand internationally.

The Importance of ANUGA 2025

ANUGA is not just another trade fair; it is one of the three pivotal food exhibitions globally, sharing the stage with SIAL Paris and FOODEX Japan. With over 8,000 companies from more than 100 countries expected to attend, this year's ANUGA is anticipated to be the largest ever. South Korea has been designated as the official partner country, enhancing the visibility of its brands, including Binggrae, at the trade fair within the K-Food Pavilion.

Binggrae's expansion initiatives have already borne fruit, as it has successfully exported Melona to several European countries, including Germany, United Kingdom, France, and the Netherlands. Notably, the sales volume of Melona in Europe saw a staggering increase, nearly quadrupling in 2024 compared to the previous year, thanks to strategic placements in major Asian grocery chains like Tang Frères in France and Go Asia in Germany.

Looking Ahead

With the unveiling of Samanco, Binggrae aims to diversify its product range, cater to local tastes, and enhance its distribution channels in Europe. A spokesperson from Binggrae shared insights into their ambitions, stating, "We anticipate our participation in ANUGA will be a pivotal platform to introduce K-ice cream to a broader audience and expand our European export opportunities."

Binggrae is enthusiastically preparing for ANUGA 2025, and the company hopes to create strong partnerships that will help elevate the presence of Korean food products on the continental stage, further enriching the culinary landscape in Europe. As the trade fair approaches, anticipation builds for what promises to be an exciting showcase of innovation and tradition, encapsulated in Binggrae’s offerings.
