After a two-year hiatus, the eclectic electro-alternative pop duo Melissa Barry is back with their debut album, "A Song of LIFE," released digitally on August 26, 2026. The album marks an exciting evolution for the group, composed of Yuka Miyamae (Vocalist, Visual Designer) and HRSM (Keyboardist, Synthesizer, Programmer, Producer), who have shifted their lyrical focus from English to Japanese, showcasing their commitment to their audience in Japan.

Since their last release - a trilogy of EPs titled This is Melissa Barry -Pop side-, This is Melissa Barry -Cyber side-, and This is Melissa Barry -Deep inside- in 2024, fans have been eagerly awaiting new music. This album's theme, as suggested by its title, revolves around celebrating life, serving as an uplifting anthem for everyone striving to live their best lives.

In a notable shift for the duo, the album prominently features lyrics co-written by the external collaborator Ko from Arakawa Sapience, which brings forth a fresh perspective and a distinctive side to Melissa Barry's sound. Musically, the album blends their signature Western-influenced organic electro style with nostalgic techno elements and a contemporary Japanese pop sound, which has never been explored in their previous work. To top it off, the album includes their first-ever ballad, adding even more depth to the collection of ten tracks.

The lead track, M10: Dōshitemo, stands out with a nostalgic techno-infused rhythm entwined with their organic electro sound. It carries a strong emotional weight and a powerful message, reflecting the duo's journey and artistic growth.

Looking ahead, Melissa Barry has exciting plans, including a solo concert in March 2027. Following this album, they intend to release new music continuously over six months, enhancing their reach and connection with their audience.
