DEWALT Celebrates High School Seniors Choosing Trade Careers
As graduation approaches, DEWALT, a trusted name in jobsite solutions under Stanley Black & Decker, is launching a campaign to celebrate high school seniors committing to skilled trades. This initiative kicks off on National Decision Day, celebrated on May 1, a day traditionally reserved for new college students to share their future plans. DEWALT encourages high school seniors attending trade school to participate by sharing their decisions on social media platforms.
To make this recognition special, DEWALT has developed a collection of free downloadable digital banners for students to showcase their newfound paths. Tagging DEWALT in their posts not only spreads awareness but also fosters community support for prospective tradespeople. According to a recent survey conducted by DEWALT, optimism is high among students in skilled trades education; 77% expressed confidence in their career choices, while a commendable 80% indicated that their parents view these career paths positively.
Frank Mannarino, President of Brand Partnerships and Customer Experience at Stanley Black & Decker, shared the brand's commitment to empowering future tradespeople. “We honor and celebrate the class of 2025 as they embark on their careers in the trades,” said Mannarino. This move positions DEWALT as a brand not just focused on tools but also on nurturing the next generation of skilled laborers.
DEWALT's Commitment to Supporting Trades Education
This initiative is part of DEWALT's broader
Grow The Trades program, which is a robust $30 million commitment aimed at addressing the skilled trades gap by 2027. The initiative includes providing resources and support for trades training, specifically through financial assistance aimed at students pursuing trade degrees or certificates. This month, DEWALT will disburse $200,000 in scholarships to 40 deserving students across the United States and Canada. The goal is to provide the necessary funding to foster growth and engagement in skilled trades.
DEWALT is additionally investing in organizations that focus on upskilling and reskilling tradespeople, responding to the growing demand for skilled workers in the industry. This proactive approach champions the importance of trades education and recognizes the underlying need for skilled labor, ensuring that these vital careers are preserved and respected.
