ClassDojo for Districts Introduces Innovative Features for 2025-26 Education Year

ClassDojo for Districts Expands Its Capabilities for the Upcoming School Year

In a significant move aimed at improving school communications, ClassDojo announced on July 22, 2025, that it will introduce a suite of new features to its ClassDojo for Districts platform. The update, designed with direct input from educators and district leaders, focuses on unifying communication, fostering family engagement, and providing tools to ease the burden of administrative work for teachers—all while navigating increasingly tight educational budgets.

Addressing Budget Pressures in Education

As many school districts face reductions in federal education funding, pressures mount to maximize resources efficiently. ClassDojo's latest updates come as a timely response to these budget constraints. As Chad A. Stevens, Ph.D., ClassDojo's Head of K–12 Engagement, explained, “Superintendents were clear that they wanted to use tools that were already rapidly adopted and loved by school staff.” The new features aim to enhance collaboration and control across educational environments, empowering educators while keeping costs at bay.

Enhanced Communication Tools

One of the standout features of the new platform is the ability for districts to send announcements to families, specific staff, or targeted groups. With over 130 languages supported for automatic translation, schools can now ensure that parents and guardians receive important updates in their preferred language. Additionally, integrated Read Receipts allow for confirmation of message delivery, making it easier for central offices to stay informed about outreach efforts.

Beyond just announcements, middle and high school students will experience a redesigned interface that encourages independence, allowing them to customize their avatars and navigate the platform with more age-appropriate functionalities.

Introducing AI Support with Sidekick

The new AI assistant, named Sidekick, aims to alleviate some of the tedious tasks that weigh heavily on teachers. From assisting with lesson planning to managing everyday administrative workflows, Sidekick helps educators reclaim valuable time to focus on their students. Dr. Stevens emphasizes the positive impact of Sidekick, stating, “Teachers tell us Sidekick saves them hours each week, allowing them to be more present with students.”

This technology, built on consistent feedback from educators, signifies ClassDojo's commitment to adapting its tools in ways that genuinely serve classroom needs.

Streamlined Oversight and Administration

ClassDojo is also introducing automated rostering features that integrate seamlessly with existing Student Information Systems (SIS) and ClassLink tools. This will reduce the manual setup burden and ensure that daily data on students, staff, and families is continuously updated and secure. The login process has been enhanced with options for Google or Microsoft single sign-on, as well as multi-factor authentication (MFA), strengthening the platform's security.

Moreover, districts will find it easier to audit communication records—including texts, images, videos, and files—using a simple search function based on various criteria such as school or date range.

Looking Ahead to 2026

As ClassDojo continues to innovate, future updates slated for early 2026 promise to bring even more enhancements. These include functionalities for teacher-to-student messaging, alerts based on attendance data from SIS, automated household notifications via voice calls, and integration with social media platforms.

Dr. Stevens concluded by reiterating the value of ClassDojo in today’s educational landscape: “Districts are often forced to choose between innovation and affordability—but with ClassDojo, they don't have to.” The platform aims to replace outdated and often costly systems with a simple, unified solution that effectively engages families and supports teachers.
