4. Friend Request Alerts: Teens will receive prompts warning them about friend requests from unknown users, ensuring they stay informed about who is trying to connect with them.

5. Stage Restrictions: Only age-verified adults will be allowed to speak on stage in servers, creating a safer environment during live discussions.

Privacy-Forward Age Assurance

To ensure users' privacy during this transition, Discord's age verification process will use multiple methods. Users have the option to complete age confirmation through facial age estimation that operates on their device, meaning no data is sent elsewhere. Additionally, identity documents submitted for verification will be deleted immediately following age confirmation, ensuring quick and secure handling of sensitive information.
