Lake George RV Park Celebrates 60th Season with Statewide Honors and Future Plans

Lake George RV Park Celebrates 60 Years of Hospitality

The renowned Lake George RV Park has concluded its remarkable 60th anniversary camping season and received two prestigious awards that underscore its commitment to excellence in the guest experience. This Adirondack gem, beloved by families, now looks forward to continuing its legacy as it prepares for the 2027 camping season.

A Year of Celebration and Recognition

The 2026 camping season at Lake George RV Park wasn’t just an ordinary year; it marked a significant milestone for the family-owned resort. The park received accolades as the Best Campground Amenities and Best Pet-Friendly Campground in the 2026 Best of Camp New York Awards. These honors reflect the park's dedication to providing a welcoming atmosphere not only for people but also for their furry companions. With over 3,200 participants casting more than 10,000 votes, the recognition was particularly meaningful as it came directly from the campers themselves.

The awards ceremony was held during Campground Owners of New York's (CONY) annual meeting, signaling a fitting conclusion to a year themed around “Sixty Years of SMILES.” This celebration highlighted the park's enduring appeal and commitment to creating unforgettable memories for guests, transcending generations.

The Legacy of Lake George RV Park

Founded in 1966 by Victor and Jessica King, Lake George RV Park was a pioneer in transforming traditional camping into a comprehensive resort experience. When campgrounds primarily offered simple parking spaces for RVs, the Kings envisioned a place that combined the essence of outdoors with modern amenities and exceptional hospitality.

Over the decades, the Kings have navigated the evolution of recreational vehicles and modern camping trends to enhance guest experiences continually. Thanks to the relentless efforts of three generations within the King family, the park has built a robust reputation as a premier camping resort in the United States.

David King, the current President and CEO, reflected on the park’s rich history: *“Reaching our 60th anniversary has given us an opportunity to reflect on just how much has changed since my parents opened the park in 1966—and also on the things that haven’t changed.
