Chishui River Forum 2025: Shaping the Future of Global Spirits Industry
Chishui River Forum 2025: Interweaving Harmony in Spirits Industry
The Chishui River Forum 2025 was held on October 28 in the southwest province of Guizhou, China, attracting nearly 400 attendees from both domestic and international backgrounds. Under the theme 'Interweaving Harmony', this event gathered prominent representatives from leading spirits manufacturers and industry experts who came together to discuss the sustainable development of the global spirits industry.
Renowned for being the heart of China's baijiu production, the Chishui River area contributes over 60% of the country's capacity for Jiangxiangxing baijiu and is home to esteemed brands such as Moutai, Xijiu, and Langjiu. The traditional brewing techniques passed down along its banks, combined with Guizhou's model of 'industrial symbiosis', offers a unique framework for the growth of the global spirits sector.
At the forum, participants highlighted that the core value of the Chinese spirits industry lies in its 'Quality + Culture' approach. This sector is entering a new 3.0 innovation era defined by cultural appreciation, value enhancement, and the recognition of lifestyle dynamics. Collective harmony is emphasized as the foundation of Chinese spirits culture, while the concept of symbiosis is seen as pivotal for sustainable development.
The discussions propelled by the forum aimed to deepen cross-border collaborations, promote technological advancements, share industry resources, and establish common quality standards. This is expected to enhance mutual learning between Chinese and foreign spirits cultures, while also pushing forward the high-quality development of the global spirits industry.
Various thematic sessions and dialogues were conducted, covering topics such as exploring application scenarios for baijiu, engaging Generation Z as consumers, integrating Chinese and foreign spirits cultures, and embracing digital transformation in the industry.
Notably, two significant initiatives were launched at the event: the initiative to foster high-quality development within the global spirits industry, co-initiated by the China Economic Information Service, China Moutai, and leading domestic and international spirits companies; and the Chishui River Global Fine Wines & Spirits Declaration. This declaration aims to collectively build an open, inclusive, cooperative, prosperous, and innovative global community for the spirits industry.
Additionally, two reports were unveiled at the forum. One report addresses the development index of notable Chinese and global alcoholic beverages, while the other focuses on the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) development of Renhuai, Guizhou, the primary production area for Jiangxiangxing baijiu. These reports are intended to support the growth of the industry by establishing a scientific assessment system and a digital development value benchmark.
The authority behind the event includes the China Economic Information Service and China Moutai, highlighting their commitment to advancing the spirits industry not only in China but globally.
As the spirits industry looks to the future, the insights and initiatives generated at the Chishui River Forum 2025 mark a significant stride toward sustainable growth and innovation in this age-old tradition.
