Kawai Musical Instruments Starts Piano Donation Initiative
In celebration of its 100th anniversary set for 2027, Kawai Musical Instruments Co., Ltd. has launched an inspiring project titled "Piano no Tane 100: Connecting Music's Bonds for the Future". This initiative aims to donate 100 pianos to kindergartens, daycare centers, and certified children’s centers throughout Japan. Additionally, there are plans to extend this project to the international market with another 100 pianos to be donated in 2027.
The donation campaign aims to create a nurturing environment for children, enabling them to enjoy and learn music. Kawai hopes this effort will contribute to the advancement and widespread appreciation of music culture. Schools interested in receiving a donation of a piano can apply to the program, with up to 100 selected institutions receiving brand new instruments.
Application Process
To apply, educational institutions are invited to create artwork themed around music, which will be submitted alongside their application forms. This participatory initiative not only encourages free expression among children but also enhances their connection to music through creative endeavors. The aim is for children to experience the joy of self-expression through their unique artistic creations.
Out of all the submitted artworks, five schools will be awarded specially designed pianos. These unique instruments will feature artwork from the winning schools, transforming them into one-of-a-kind musical tools for engaging in music activities.
The Mission Behind Kawai
Kawai has a rich history in educational initiatives, having established programs such as Kawai Music School and Kawai Physical Education School. With this piano donation initiative, Kawai aims to promote and support the healthy growth of the next generation through the power of music.
