Dr. James Weber, M.D. Set to Retire as CEO of The Specialty Alliance

After four decades of extraordinary service, Dr. James Weber, M.D. has officially announced his retirement from the position of CEO of The Specialty Alliance (TSA), which will take effect on December 31, 2026. His tenure has been marked by a strong commitment to advancing the role of independent specialty practices in healthcare, establishing him as a pivotal figure in the organization’s evolution.

Dr. Weber's journey began with the founding of Texas Digestive Disease Consultants, and subsequently, he established GI Alliance and launched TSA. His vision has consistently emphasized the importance of physician-led care, proving that independent specialty practices can not only survive but thrive through collaboration, innovation, and scalability. Throughout his leadership, he has prioritized patient care at the core of every decision.

As part of a strategic transition plan, Dr. Weber will remain with TSA, serving as Chair Emeritus of the management board. He will continue to engage in a strategic advisory capacity, collaborating with both physician and executive leadership to ensure the organization’s long-term growth and sustain the mission that has driven TSA since its inception.

Nathan (Nate) H. Walcker, who joined TSA as president this past August, has been working closely with Dr. Weber to maintain the organization's trajectory. Under their joint leadership, TSA is positioned to implement strategic priorities, fortify physician leadership, and pave the way for its next stage of growth.
