Beko Day 2025: Promoting Sustainability and Inclusion on a Global Stage

Istanbul, November 10, 2025 – Beko, a leading name in the home appliance industry, hosted an impactful event for the Beko Day, gathering over 50,000 employees from 50 countries under the shared objective of celebrating the 10th anniversary of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This significant occasion was not just a celebration, but a call to collective action towards sustainability and global unity.

Beko's commitment to sustainability is a foundational element of its corporate culture, reflected in every aspect of its operations, from product design to corporate governance. The enthusiastic participation from various regions highlighted the company's dedication and its resolve to address environmental challenges. Zeynep Özbil, Chief Global Communications Executive Director at Beko, emphasized the transformative power of collective efforts, stating, "The SDGs provide a roadmap for a better future. Through active initiatives like Beko Day, we embody this roadmap within our organizational culture. The remarkable engagement from 50 nations sends a clear message: we are aligning our employees directly with the SDGs, ensuring our sustainability narrative is authentic and rooted in real impact."

During the event, after a motivating opening address by Hakan Bulgurlu, CEO of Beko, attendees were treated to four insightful sessions aimed at inspiring thought and action. Expert speakers delved into strategies for moving from promises to tangible practices to achieve the 2030 objectives. They reflected on three decades of transformations in sustainability and examined future pathways. Importantly, they underscored how Beko's technologies contribute to advancing the SDGs, framing sustainability as a core principle that permeates every operation within the company.

The Beko Day also sparked local initiatives with global repercussions. From Turkey to the United Kingdom and beyond, teams focused on specific SDG areas to create innovative and purposeful projects. In Turkey, employees organized a vibrant swap day, trading toys, stationery, and decorations to promote responsible consumption aligned with SDG 12. They constructed birdhouses to enhance local biodiversity, resonating with SDG 11. The UK team facilitated a cake sale, raising funds for cancer charities while supporting both SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) through donations.

Moving over to Singapore and Poland, teams conducted movement and stretching exercises centered on promoting well-being, while in Thailand, staff launched the "Save Tissue, Save the Earth" campaign to raise awareness about resource use in the workplace. These examples illustrate how localized, creative actions can converge into powerful, sustainable impacts across Beko's global network.

The essence of Beko Day was captured by the engagement, creativity, and enthusiasm of employees worldwide. They participated in the “Global Beko Day Quiz,” exploring sustainability goals and initiatives in a fun and interactive manner. A slogan competition further encouraged imaginative ideas, with winning entries embodying equality, innovation, and sustainable living. These victorious slogans will contribute to Beko’s future sustainability communications.

Utilizing a shared digital platform, teams from 50 countries exchanged thoughts, photographs, and ideas, transforming the day into a celebration of connection, belonging, and creativity that defines the Beko culture while meaningfully bringing the SDGs to life.
